Not all damaged drains need digging. In fact, many of the most common drainage issues—like cracks, root ingress, or displaced joints—can be permanently repaired using UV drain lining. Here’s how this trenchless method works and which problems it can solve.
How UV Drain Lining Works
UV drain lining involves inserting a resin-saturated liner into the existing pipe. Once positioned, UV light is used to cure the resin in place—creating a tough, jointless new pipe within the original one.
This approach is fast, clean, and suitable for a wide range of defects.
Cracked Pipes: Sealed from the Inside
Cracks often appear in older clay, cast iron, or cement pipes due to ground movement, corrosion, or pressure from above. UV lining seals these cracks completely—restoring watertight integrity without disturbing the surface.

Root Intrusion: Eliminated and Prevented
Tree roots often force their way through tiny pipe joints and fractures. We use high-pressure root cutting to remove them, then install a UV liner to seal the system against regrowth permanently.
Displaced Joints: Reshaped and Reinforced
In older pipework, movement of the ground can cause joints to misalign—restricting flow or causing leaks. UV lining bridges and seals these misalignments, creating a smooth internal wall with zero joint gaps.
Corrosion & Erosion: Internal Wall Protection
Pipes exposed to aggressive wastewater, cleaning chemicals, or erosion from sand/grit may degrade over time. UV liners create a smooth, chemical-resistant internal surface—extending the system’s life and improving hygiene.

When UV Lining May Not Be Suitable
